CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team returns to action this weekend when the Vikings compete in the Horizon League Championship from Friday through Sunday (April 26-28) at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

The Vikings have won four of the last seven league championships, claiming the title in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011.

Last year, CSU finished third, carding a 54-hole total of 915 (304-308-303) to finish behind team champion Loyola, which carded a 909, and runner-up Green Bay who shot 911.

Jon Riemer paced the Vikings at last year's championship, earning a spot on the all-tournament team with his fifth place finish. He shot 74-76-75 (225), finishing three shots out of first place.

The Vikings finished the regular season last weekend, placing eighth of 18 teams at the Boilermaker Invitational that was one of the deepest and talented fields CSU played against all season.

Junior Andrew Bailey, last season's Horizon League Player of the Year, led the Vikings with his fourth top-10 finish of the year, tying for ninth place at 218 (75-69-74). His second round 69 was his 11th round of par or better this year. Bailey continues to lead the squad with a 72.8 scoring average, the second lowest for a season in school history behind Jake Scott's 72.7 in 2007-08.

Riemer also had a strong showing at Purdue last weekend, following an opening round 77 with an even-par 72 and a one-under-par 71 for a 54 hole total of 220 to tie for 15th place.

Riemer is second on the team with a 74.7 scoring average, while sophomore Michael Balcar is third at 75.0
