CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State made a season-high 10 three-pointers and shot 53-percent behind the arc as the Vikings rolled past Sam Houston State, 63-45, on Thursday night in the Wolstein Center.

The win improved the Vikings to 11-2, including a perfect 4-0 at home, while the Bearkats fell to 4-8.

"I thought our guys worked hard out there today," head coach Gary Waters said. "We were able to get enough guys in there and get some other guys playing time and they played together as a team and that's what you want to see.

"There are still some areas we have to improve upon, including taking care of the basketball. We had way to many again tonight and also have to start cutting back on unnecessary fouls. When our guys get into foul trouble, it makes us change our whole strategy."

D'Aundray Brown led the Vikings with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Jeremy Montgomery added 11 points, going 3-of-5 from three-point. Trey Harmon scored nine points, hitting all three of his three-pointers.

With CSU leading 13-11 with 10:45 to play in the first half, the Vikings began to make their move, scoring five straight points to assume an 18-11 lead. SHSU was able to slice its deficit back to five points (26-21) with 3:37 to play, but a three-pointer by D'Aundray Brown at the 3:02 mark started a 11-4 CSU run to close the half.

The Vikings led, 37-25, at the intermission.

CSU maintained a double-digit lead the entire second half, pushing the lead to as many as 23 points (63-40) with 2:27 left on a three-pointer by Brown.

The Viking bench came through with 25 points tonight, including six each from Sebastian Douglas, Devon Long and Anton Grady. Long added four rebounds in his 13 minutes of work.

CSU held the Bearkats to just 34 shots, including a 2-for-9 (.222) effort from three-point, forcing 23 turnovers that the Vikings turned into 27 points.

CSU is back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 28) when the Vikings travel to Toledo for an 8:00 p.m. contest.
