This was the first meeting ever between Cleveland State and La Roche.
CSU trailed just once (2-0, 19:19) before seven straight points to take the lead for good. CSU led by as many as 19 (36-17, 1:52) in the first half.
CSU freshman Trevon Harmon made his Viking debut in the first half.
He finished with seven points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.
LaRoche shot just .367 from the field (18-49) to become the seventh CSU opponent (and sixth in seven games) to shoot below 40-percent this year.
