MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
The loss snaps CSU's three-game win streak and drops the Vikings to 4-3 while Cal State Northridge improves to 4-0.
This was the second meetings all-time between CSU and Cal State Northridge with the Vikings claiming the first contest, an 85-76 decision in Northridge, Calif. last year that was part of the ESPNU BracketBusters.
CSU endured a 5:38 stretch in the first half in which the Vikings did not make a field goal (0-8). Jackson scored to give CSU a 10-9 lead at the 12:30 mark. CSUN ran off nine straight points to take an 18-10 lead and Bullock ended the cold spell with a basket with 6:52 left.
Once the shooting slump ended, a hot streak began as CSU made six straight field goal attempts to take a 24-20 lead with 4:52 left.
There were six ties and 11 lead changes in the game.
CSUN took the lead for good on a Tremaine Townsend basket with 11:00 left (47-46). It started an 11-2 run that gave the Matadors a 56-48 lead with 7:51 left. CSU would get no closer than six the rest of the way.
CSUN had a decisive three-point shooting edge, making 10-of-17 (.588) while the Vikings could manage just 3-for-13 shooting (.231).
