Cleveland State vs. John Carroll
Nov. 24, 2007

Cleveland State Head Coach Gary Waters: "I've got to give John Carroll a lot of credit. They did what they had to do and hit some shots. I am disappointed with our overall play, but happy that we held them to 37 percent shooting.

On CSU's 1-for-13 Three-Point Shooting: "This isn't a one day thing. This is going to plague us the entire year, but we took only 13 three-pointers against a zone defense. We are not a great three-point shooting team, but we can score many other ways and we are going to push that."

On Scoring 20 Fast Break Points: "That's what we're about. We can get out in transition and when we get out there, the biggest thing I look for is execution. We work on transition every day in practice and spend a lot of time executing it."

On Tinkering With the Lineup: "I went with a little quicker lineup and wanted to see our freshman more. Cedric can't continue to play 32-34 minutes. Norris (Cole) has got to play some more for us."

On Wednesday's Opponent: "Cal State Northridge is a great team. They are averaging close to 95 points per game and like to run it up and down. They have a lot of size and a verteran team with seniors and juniors."

On CSU's Defense: "Our identity is defense and if our identity didn't show up tonight, we'd have been in trouble.

Cleveland State's Cedric Jackson:
On Facing JCU's Zone Defense: "I don't think it affected us much. We just did a lot of passing on the outside and should have tried to get the ball inside more to use our height advantage."

On Playing 7 of Next Nine at Home: "It's going to be a test for us because we know that we have to protect out house. It's going to be a building block for us over the next couple games."

John Carroll Head Coach Mike Moran:
On JCU's Gameplan: "We had a little different gameplan tonight and the guys executed it very well. We wanted to change the tempo we normally play at and I thought the kids did a great job at controlling the pace of the game and not letting Cleveland State use their pure athleticism against us."

On Cleveland State Basketball: "Cleveland State is playing great basketball and we knew coming in that we were playing a great team. You look at who they have played this season and the quality of their opponents and we knew we were in for a tremendous battle."

On the Opportunity to Play at CSU: "I couldn't ask anything more from our guys. We are delighted to have this opportunity and hopefully we'll be able to continue this game in the future."
