CSU senior Norris Cole
- Recorded his 37th career 20-point game (18th this year), finishing with 26 points.
- Was nine-for-nine from the line to improve to 200-237 for the season. He extended his season record for free throws made (old record 177 by Ken McFadden) and broke McFadden's season record for free throws attempted (233 in 1987-88).
- Had 4 assists to move past Eddie Bryant (435 assists) and into fourth place on the career chart with 438.

CSU junior Trey Harmon
- Scored in double digits for the seventh straight game (24th this year), totaling 13 points, 10 coming in the first half.
- Was five-for-10 from the field

CSU junior Jeremy Montgomery
- Reached double figures in scoring for the 22nd time this year, finishing with 17 points.
- Was six-for-14 from the field with two treys.

CSU junior Aaron Pogue
- Reached double figures in scoring for the 14th time this year, finishing with 10 points.
- Fouled out with 1:31 left
- Was five-for-six from the foul line.

Miscellaneous Notes
- UIC jumped out to a 6-0 lead (18:24) but CSU rallied. With the game tied at 12-12 (13:27), CSU went on a 21-2 run to take a 33-14 lead (5:24). The Vikings led by as many as 21 (38-17, 3:00) before taking a 40-23 lead at the break.
- UIC closed to within 49-44 (11:09) but CSU pushed the lead back into double figures (60-48, 4:56) and the Flames would come no closer than nine points down the stretch.
- This was the 69th meeting between Cleveland State and UIC with the Vikings now owning a 37-32 series advantage (UIC is 15-16 in Cleveland). CSU won all three meetings in 2010-11, giving them eight straight wins over UIC.
- This was the eighth meeting between UIC and CSU in post-season play with the Flames now owning a 5-3 edge in those games.
- The win improves the Vikings to 25-7 on the year and advances the Vikings to play Wright State on Friday (March 4) at 6:00 p.m. EST in Milwaukee.
- CSU is now 10-14 all-time in the Horizon League Championship, including a 6-1 mark over the last three years.
- The win was Cleveland State's 25th of the year, tying the Vikings for the third-highest single season win total in school history (29 wins in 85-86, 26 in 08-09 and 25 in 86-87).
- The victory improved the Vikings to 16-2 at home this year, breaking the old school record of 15 wins in a season, which was set in both 1985-86 and 1987-88. It topples the old Wolstein Center record of 13, which was set in 2008-09.
- The Cleveland State starting lineup of Norris Cole, Trey Harmon, Jeremy Montgomery, Tim Kamczyc and Aaron Pogue started their 32nd straight game together, an ongoing school record. CSU is one of three teams to start the same lineup in every game (Missouri State & St. Bonaventure).
- The Vikings had a decisive advantage defensively, forcing 19 turnovers while making just 5 (CSU 17-2 in points off turnovers).
- CSU had a hot-cold shooting night, shooting .500 from the field (12-24) and .444 from three-point in the first half (4-9) but just 9-for-29 (.310) in the second half (1-6 three-point, .167).
- The rebounding was even at 17-17 in the first half but UIC pulled away, having a +15 margin in the second half, out-rebounding CSU 43-28 in the game
