Wisconsin-Milwaukee Defeats Cleveland State

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Clay Tucker scored all of his 22 points in the second half and James Wright added 16 points and 15 rebounds to help Wisconsin-Milwaukee beat Cleveland State 86-68 Thursday night.

The Panthers (14-12, 6-7 Midwestern Collegiate Conference) also got 13 points from Chad Angeli and 12 apiece from Jason Frederick and Kalombo Kadima in ending their two-game losing streak.

Jamaal Harris scored 20 points and Theo Dixon 15 to lead the Vikings (17-12, 8-5), who lost their third straight game as they have fallen from first to third in the MCC.

Tucker had eight points in the first 4:20 of the second period to lead a 17-7 scoring surge that put the Panthers ahead 47-32. The Vikings later scored 11 straight points, pulling within 51-44 on a basket by Dixon with 11:47 remaining, but they never got any closer the rest of the way.

The Panthers led 30-25 at the half.

Despite missing their first seven shots, the Vikings trailed only 5-3 after Harris hit Cleveland State's first basket of the game, a 3-pointer with 15:40 left in the first half.

The Vikings scored the last five points before halftime on a Jermaine Robinson 3-pointer and a dunk by Kevin Ross.

A Klotsche Center crowd of 2,738 gave Milwaukee a season record attendance of 34,275 fans, with one home game still remaining.
