CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cedric Jackson finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and nine assists as Cleveland State handed Milwaukee a 74-64 setback in Horizon League action Wednesday night in the Wolstein Center.

Norris Cole added a career-high 14 points and four rebounds as CSU had four players in double figures. J'Nathan Bullock tallied 13 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Breyohn Watson finished with a career-high tying 11 points.

The win, which snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Panthers, improved the Vikings to 18-11 overall and 11-6 in league play, assuring CSU of no worse than a No. 3 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship. The 11 league wins are the most since the Vikings joined the league in 1994-95, surpassing the old mark of nine set twice.

Milwaukee slips to 13-12, 8-7.

"We did what we had to do to win the basketball game and completed it," head coach Gary Waters said. I thought we executed like we needed to, but had a few to many turnovers.

"Our goal was to shut down their dribble-drive. We went under screens and made them shoot the basketball and hoped they wouldn't hit tonight."

The victory improves CSU to 11-2 in the Wolstein Center this year, tying the arena record for wins in a season. The record was previously set in both 1992-93 (11-1) and 2000-01 (11-2).

Jackson hit a pair of three-pointers in the early going, lifting the Vikings out to a quick 14-4 lead five minutes into the game. CSU never trailed in the game, but the Panthers would slice the lead to 23-22 with 5:13 to play in the first half.

From there, the Vikings scored the next eight points to regain a nine-point (31-22) advantage with 2:12 to play. Cole concluded the run with a pair of jumpers to push the lead to nine.

Neither team would score again until Deion James hit a three-pointer with 20 seconds to play in the half and the Vikings led, 31-25, at the half.

The CSU lead was trimmed to five points (38-33) four minutes into the second half, but back-to-back jumpers from Watson and Jackson pushed the lead back to nine points.

A dunk by Kaylan Anderson cut the lead back to seven, but Jackson converted a three-point play and Bullock hit a jumper to push the lead out to 12 points (47-35; 13:33). CSU would lead by as many as 13 points with 9:11 to play in the game.

From there, Milwaukee scored seven straight points to cut the deficit back to six points, but would be able to get no closer the rest of the night.

James finished with 18 points to lead the Panthers, while Marcus Skinner, Paige Paulsen and Deonte Roberts all scored 11. UWM was 25-of-57 (.439) from the field, including 5-of-16 (.313) from three-point.

CSU held a decisive 35-27 advantage on the boards, while shooting .491 (26-53) from the field, including 15-of-25 (.600) in the second half. The Vikings also hit 19-of-25 (.760) from the free throw line, while the Panthers were 9-of-10 (.900).

The Vikings will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 23, when CSU hosts Marist at 6:30 p.m. in an ESPNU Bracket Busters contest in the Wolstein Center.
