DETROIT, Mich. - Bryn Forbes scored 14 points and Marlin Mason had another solid game off the bench with 11 points and eight rebounds, but Detroit avenged a loss in Cleveland earlier in the season with a 92-62 victory over Cleveland State on Tuesday night in Calihan Hall.

CSU fell to 12-14 overall and 4-8 in the Horizon League, while the Titans improved to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in the league.

Forbes, a candidate for Horizon League Newcomer of the Year, scored in double-figures for the 18th time in the last 20 contests.

Devon Long added nine points and Sebastian Douglas scored eight, while Luda Ndaye finished with five points and four rebounds.

Nick Minnerath led three Titans in double figures with 34 points and added 12 rebounds. Ray McCallum totaled 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists and Jason Calliste scored 19 points.

A Forbes three-point play on a jumper and free throw opened the scoring, but the Titans scored the next 11 points, as Jason Calliste hit a three-pointer and followed it with a four-point play to give Detroit an 11-2 lead less than three minutes in.

Detroit maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the half and took a 42-24 lead into the locker room. The Titan defense forced 13 first half CSU turnovers, turning them into 17 points and scored 22 points in the paint over the first 20 minutes.

CSU cut the deficit to 13 points (44-31) less than three minutes into the second half on a Forbes jumper, but could get no closer the rest of the night.

The Vikings return to action on Friday (Feb. 15) when CSU hosts Green Bay at 9:00 p.m. in the first of three straight home games. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
