Cleveland State Head Coach Gary Waters:
"We had some careless turnovers down the stretch that gave them too many points, but sometimes that happens with young guys. We did a great job defending throughout the whole game, we executed our defensive game plan well the entire night."

"You are always looking to defend, and we did a great job of attacking them tonight. We kept ourselves in the game and put pushing through the whole game."

"One of the things we talked about bench scoring, Valpo's bench has outscored their opponents in the previous games and we needed to work on that tonight. Tim and Charlie did a great job of helping us out with that tonight."

"I thought we dominated them in the first 10 minutes of the second half and we let them back in. Our guys settled down and got back in the game to finish strong despite the turnovers that we had."

"Our plan was to attack everything tonight, we weren't going to settle for jump shots unless they were open. I knew if we attacked we would be able to get to the line, and that was a great help for us tonight because we are a strong free throw team."

"I thought we played harder than Valpo tonight, Norris did an outstanding job tonight. He shut down Wood, their best player and held him to only 14 points which all came in the second half."

Cleveland State's Norris Cole:
"With the four guard offense that is one of our strengths, and everyone is able to score and create plays for the team. When we are attacking and not turning the ball over we are a pretty good team with that."

"Have four guards out there we are all capable of shooting free throws, which is another thing we are good at and that's what we try to use."

"We are happy that we won tonight, but as a team we need to focus on the next game. We will come in tomorrow and be ready to prepare ourselves for the next game. We need to protect our home court."

Cleveland State's D'Aundray Brown:
"They were pressuring Norris and he had a create a play and I just happened to be open so that was thanks to a good pass."

Cleveland State's Charlie Woods:
"Coming off the bench the best thing you can do is help fill in and keep creating plays and continue what they are doing on the court."

Valparaiso Head Coach Homer Drew:
"You really have to credit Cleveland State, they started right from the beginning. We had nine turnovers in the first half and they had nine steals, and their defense just took things away from us. We were 18 done in the second half, and I thought our guys played really hard at the end and made a run. Every time we had a chance they kept making free throws which didn't help us at all. Cleveland State made plays and they deserved to win, but I was very pleased with our last nine minutes and we just need to grow on that."
