Postgame Notes

Cleveland State vs. Butler

Feb. 8, 2007

J'Nathan Bullock

• Broke out of a mini-scoring slump to lead CSU with 18 points.  He had totaled just 17 points in his previous two games.

• It was his team-leading 18th double-figure scoring game of the year

Bahaadar Russell

• Scored in double figures for the seventh time in eight starts this year, finishing with 12 points.

• Went 2-for-4 from three-point, giving him 23 treys over his last eight games.

Victor Morris

• Recorded his second straight double-figure scoring night, totaling 10 points.

• It came on the heels of a 16-point game vs. UW-Green Bay last week, his only other double-figure effort since returning from foot surgery seven games ago.

Miscellaneous

• The win gives Butler a 21-5 lead in the all-time series with CSU, including an 8-4 mark in games played in the Wolstein Center.

Butler opened the game by making 12 of its 19 three-point field goal attempts in the first half.

• CSU trailed, 45-25 at the intermission.  The Vikings are now 0-10 this season when trailing at halftime.

Butler set a Horizon League record by making 20 three-pointers.  It surpassed the old mark of 18 accomplished three times (most recently by Butler vs. Detroit on 2/25/06).

• The 20 treys also set a Wolstein Center record, surpassing the previous mark of 12, which was accomplished nine times, most recently by UW-Milwaukee vs. Alabama in an NCAA Championship first round game on March 17, 2005.

Butler's 20 treys also set a record for most three-pointers by a CSU opponent.  Malone held the old mark with 15 on 12/9/89

• CSU was held to a season-low 16 rebounds, tying a school record for fewest rebounds in a game.  It equaled the mark of 16 vs. Northern Iowa on March 6, 1986.

Butler handed out 27 assists on 33 baskets, the most by a Viking opponent this year (old high:  25 by Kansas State).

• CSU equaled a season low by committing just 8 turnovers.  The Vikings have made 10 or fewer turnovers in a game seven times this year, including in four of the last five games.
