Cleveland State Downs Wright State, 77-60

CLEVELAND (AP) - Theo Dixon scored 17 points and Tahric Gosley had three monstrous dunks in the first half Thursday night, leading Cleveland State to its seventh straight win, 77-60 over Wright State.

The Vikings (17-9, 8-2 MCC) played their best 20 minutes of the season in the first half, making 12 of their first 18 shots en route to opening a 22-point lead.

Cleveland State made just one turnover before halftime and led by 18 points at the break.

Jermaine Robinson added 13 points and six assists for first-place Cleveland State in the midst of its longest winning streak in five seasons under coach Rollie Massimino.

The Vikings, now 11-1 at home, will play second-place Butler on Saturday night at the Convocation Center.

Gosley went 5-for-5 from the field and had four blocks as the Vikings' defense held Wright State to 34 percent shooting. Israel Sheinfeld had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders.

Jesse Geister had 21 points to lead Wright State, which had beaten Cleveland State in the team's first meeting this season.

With the Vikings leading 15-12, Gosley scored on two straight alley-oop dunks to trigger a 21-2 run that gave Cleveland State a 36-14 lead with 4:18 left in the half.

Gosley dunked a miss with two seconds left and blocked Wright State's final attempt of the first half as Cleveland State went into the locker room up 38-20.

The Raiders closed within 42-27 early in the second half, but Dixon buried a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 run and the Vikings pushed their lead to 62-36.

Cleveland State made 18 of 28 free throws in the second half to put the game away.
