Vikings' Free Throws Ice 81-75 Victory

CLEVELAND (AP) - Jermaine Robinson scored 22 points and Cleveland State used a 20-point advantage at the free throw line to beat Texas A&M Corpus-Christi 81-75 Monday night.

The Vikings (16-9) did not make a field goal over the game's final 8:22, but hung on for the victory by making 21-of-25 foul shots during that stretch.

Robinson hit 10-of-12 free throws, including 6-of-8 in the last 45 seconds after the Islanders (11-13) pulled within 74-69. Cleveland State hit 29-of-38 free throws, compared to 9-of-12 for Corpus Christi.

The Vikings opened the second half on 16-2 run, including 13 straight at one point, to erase a 38-35 halftime deficit.

Tahric Gosley, who scored 10 points, gave the Vikings a 41-40 lead with a three-point play, and the Vikings scored the next 10 points, capped by a Theo Dixon jumper, to go ahead 51-40 with 14:57 to play.

Dixon and Jamaal Harris, who hit 10-of-13 free throws, scored 19 points each for the Vikings.

Michael Hicks had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Armond Wainwright scored 12 points - all on 3-pointers - and Brian Evans added 11 for the Islanders.
