CHICAGO (AP) - Theo Dixon scored a career-high 33 points Saturday, including a career-best six 3-pointers, in leading Cleveland State to an 80-77 win over Loyola Chicago at the Gentile Center.

Jamaal Harris added 17 points for the Vikings (15-9, 7-2 Midwestern Collegiate Conference), who took the lead for good at 73-71 on Dixon's 3-pointer with 2:33 to go. Harris scored on a 10-foot jumper after picking off a steal with 1:39 left for a 75-71 advantage. Loyola's Louis Smith missed a 3-pointer that would have tied the game at 76-all with 18 seconds left. Dixon then went 4-for-4 from the line in the last nine seconds to seal the victory.

Dixon entered the contest needing 20 points to reach 1,000 for his career and hit that plateau at the 11:34 mark of the second half on a short jumper. The swingman became the 14th Viking to score 1,000 points and the eighth to do so in three years.

David Bailey scored 25 points and Schinn Kerr added 22 points for the Ramblers (7-15, 2-7). The 5-8 Bailey led his team with five assists and a career-high 10 rebounds.

CSU outrebounded Loyola 38-37 with Dixon and senior Kevin Ross each grabbing nine boards.

Cleveland State led 38-36 at the half and sank 54 percent of it's field goals in the second half, compared to 45 for Loyola.

The win, CSU's fifth straight victory, kept the Vikings at the top of the MCC standings, a half-game ahead of Butler (6-2 in the MCC).
