MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
This was the 60th all-time meeting between CSU and UIC with the Flames now owning a slight 31-29 lead. CSU is now 8-10 against UIC in the Wolstein Center.
The win allows CSU to improve to 10-5 overall and 3-0 in the Horizon League. The Vikings have now matched their overall and league win total from a year ago (10-21 overall, 3-13 HL in 2006-07).
The win extended CSU's Wolstein Center win streak to five straight, giving he Vikings a 6-1 record in the building this year.
The win allows CSU to improve to 3-0 in league play for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.
UIC scored the first five points of the game (5-0, 19:03), but CSU ran off the next seven (7-5, 16:58). UIC would lead by as many as six (13-7, 14:29), but a 13-2 CSU run gave the Vikings the lead for good (20-15, 6:43). CSU largest first half lead came at the buzzer (34-23).
The Vikings scored the first seven points of the second half to open up a 41-23 lead (17:16) and led by no less than 11 points the rest of the way.
CSU, which entered the game leading the Horizon League with a +3.6 rebounding margin, owned a commanding 44-30 lead on the boards.
The Vikings weren't so fortunate on the steal front, making just three steals, the second lowest total this year. (CSU was averaging a league-best 8.8/game).
