OPENING TIP:

• Cleveland State embarks on a three-game road trip, beginning on Saturday (Feb. 8) at 6 p.m. at Youngstown State

• The Vikings enter tonight's contest with a 5-6 record in Horizon League play, while Youngstown State sits at 6-5

Algevon Eichelberger has 12 straight double-figure scoring games, after notching 10 points on 3-5 (.600) shooting from the floor, including a perfect 4-4 (1.000) clip from the charity stripe against UIC (2/1).

• Three Vikings scored in double figures in each of the last three games

• Youngstown State is coming off of a 91-76 win over IUPUI (2/1)

• Youngstown State has won two of its last three games, averaging 90.7 points over that span

• Cleveland State leads the league in steals in Horizon League games, averaging 7.9 per outing

Craig Beaudion leads CSU, and is tied for first in the HL, as he is netting 2.2 steals per HL contest

• Cleveland State had 10 steals last time out against UIC, marking the eighth game this season with 10+ swipes

 

WE SHOULD PATTON THAT:

Torrey Patton has raised his output in Horizon League play

• He is averaging 12.9 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game in league play

• Patton is shooting 51.4 percent (55-107) from the floor, including a 50.0 (12-of-24) percent clip from the three-point line

•  He scored a career-high 25 points in the Vikings' victory over Youngstown State

• That effort against YSU is one of three 20-point games he has in league play

• Patton has double figures in scoring in seven of 11 HL games

 

LEAGUE ROUNDUP:

• Cleveland State is sixth place in the Horizon League standings with a 5-6 record entering Friday's games

• A pair of teams, Milwaukee and UIC, are tied for fifth place with conference records of 6-6

• CSU took down Youngstown State, 82-77, at the Wolstein Center on Jan. 4

• Three Vikings finished the game with double-digit points: Craig Beaudion (12), Algevon Eichelberger (10), Franklyn Penn Jr. (10)

• CSU notched 10 steals, including four swipes from Torrey Patton

• The Vikings defense forced 20 turnovers, resulting in 23 points

• The Vikings shot .400 from the field, including a .550 clip during the final 20 minutes of action

• Saturday's contest marked the last game of a four-game homestand, where the Vikings finished with a 2-2 (.500) record
