Vikings Fall at Milwaukee, 66-60

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Anton Grady and Trey Lewis both recorded double-doubles, but Milwaukee used a strong close to the game to claim a 66-60 win over Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon at UW Milwaukee Panther Arena.

CSU fell to 17-12 overall and 11-4 in the league, while Milwaukee improved to 12-16 overall and 7-7 in the league.

The Vikings are now one-and-a-half games behind first place Valparaiso who is 12-2. The Crusaders travel to Detroit on Wednesday night before concluding the regular season at CSU on Friday.

Grady notched his eighth double-double in league play with 24 points and 10 rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals. Lewis posted his second career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also hit five three-pointers, breaking the CSU single-season record. He now has 84 three's this year, bettering the old mark of 81 set last season by Bryn Forbes.

Charlie Lee had 14 points and three assists in his hometown.

J.J. Panoske led four Panthers in double figures with 19 points, including five three-pointers.

The Vikings took a 55-51 lead on a Lee three-pointer with 6:12 to play, but the Panthers scored 11 straight points, including two three-pointers from Panoske, and closed the game on a 14-5 run over the last six minutes in claiming the win on Senior Day.

CSU held a 39-34 advantage in rebounding and grabbed 19 rebounds, leading to 18 second chance points.

CSU will close the regular season on Friday (Feb. 27) when the Vikings host league-leading Valparaiso at 10:00 p.m. in the Wolstein Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
