Men's Basketball Announces Award Winners at Banquet

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's basketball team held their end of season banquet on Sunday afternoon in the Wolstein Center with the award winners being announced.

Ludovic Ndaye earned the Academic Award. The pre-physical therapy major sports a 3.33 grade point average and will graduate in May.

Charlie Lee took home two awards, claiming the free throw and assist awards. Lee became the first player in school history to shoot better than 90-percent from the free throw line, hitting 85-of-94 (.904) at the charity stripe to rank second in the league and 10th in the nation. Lee also led the team and ranked sixth in the Horizon League with 4.1 assists per game.

Raphael Veira and Marlin Mason shared the Sportsmanship Award, while Anton Grady claimed the Rebounding Award and the Most Improved Player honor. Grady led the squad and ranked fifth in the league in rebounding (6.8), while coming back from a knee injury that forced him to miss all but six games last season.

The duo of Trey Lewis and Jon Harris shared the Newcomer Award after helping CSU to 21 wins. Lewis, a transfer from Penn State who sat out last season, was 11th in the league in scoring (13.1) and ninth in assists (3.4), while Harris made his presence felt this season after transferring from Miami (OH). Despite not starting a game, Harris ranked seventh in the league in rebounding (5.8) and became the first CSU reserve to average double figures (10.1 ppg) since 2001-02.

Sebastian Douglas took home Defensive Player of the Year honors after posting 18 steals and leading the team's pressure defense.

Bryn Forbes claimed Offensive Player of the Year honors after ranking seventh in the league in scoring (15.6) and hitting a CSU single-season school record 81 three-pointers. Forbes, a second team All-Horizon League selection, hit a three-pointer in all 32 games he appeared in and posted nine 20-point games this year.

The Vikings finished the 2013-14 season with a 21-12 overall record, including a 12-4 mark in the Horizon League. CSU advanced to the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament, the Vikings' fifth postseason bid in the last seven seasons.
