CLEVELAND, Ohio – Bryn Forbes scored a career-high 27 points and CSU shot 61-percent from the field as the Vikings defeated Notre Dame College, 97-72, on Wednesday night in the Wolstein Center. 

The Vikings, who scored a season-high in points, improved to 6-5 this year, while NDC fell to 3-7.

Forbes, whose previous career-high was 24 points on numerous occasions, hit 10-of-16 from the field and 5-of-10 from three-point. He added five rebounds and four assists. 

Marlin Mason scored a season-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists, while Sebastian Douglas finished with 13 points. Trey Lewis also reached double-digits with 10 points, while Demonte Flannigan tallied eight points and three rebounds.

Jon Harris chipped in eight points and six rebounds off the bench.

The Vikings led 41-37 at the half, but broke the game open with a 13-4 run over the first five minutes of the second half. Anton Grady's slam dunk gave CSU a 54-41 lead with 15:21 to play and the Falcons would not threaten from there as CSU's lead reached as many as 33 points.

The Vikings scored 56 second half points, shooting 19-of-30 (.633) from the floor, including 7-of-11 (.636) in the final 20 minutes. 

The win was the 142nd at CSU for head coach Gary Waters, tying him for second place on the all-time wins list with Kevin Mackey. Ray Dieringer is the all-time wins leader at CSU with 149.

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday (Dec. 21) when CSU heads to Toledo for a 2:00 p.m. contest.

  • Bryn Forbes scored a career-high 27 points, breaking his old career-high of 24 points done several times.
  • It was the sixth 20-point game of the season for Forbes and the 10th of his career.
