CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State fencing team will hold open tryouts on Wednesday, Sept. 22, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Coach Andy Tulleners said both the men's and women's teams have several open spots. Any current full-time CSU student interested in fencing is welcome.

"This is a great opportunity to join a varsity team," Tulleners said. "We're looking for athletic students who want to become athletes at Cleveland State."

Tulleners said previous fencing experience was not a requirement.

"Any student who is looking to join an athletic team is invited," Tulleners said. "This is a chance for people who are interested in learning fencing and who would like to join one of CSU's varsity teams to have that opportunity."

CSU Fencing Tryout Information:
When: Wednesday September 22nd
Time: 5 p.m. arrival, tryouts start at 5:30
Where: Woodling Gymnasium in the Physical Education Building

What Is Needed:
1. Bring running shoes and clothing to work out in.
2. Proof of Insurance - a copy is sufficient
3. A current physical. The Medical Waiver Request Form must be filled out. Physicals can be taken at the Student Health Center.
4. Medical Waiver Request Form

NCAA Requirements:
1. Must be a full time student at Cleveland State
2. Must be under 23 years of age.
