Ten Fencers Qualify for NCAA Regionals

CLEVELAND- Ten Cleveland State fencers- eight males and two females- have qualified for the 2013 NCAA Midwest Regional at South Bend, Indiana this weekend at the University of Notre Dame.

These fencers are for the men are Phelan Spence (foil), John Cuturic (foil), Zach Wetzig (foil),Tom Bienvenu (sabre), Paul Lenahan (sabre), Levi Young (epee), Paul Duchow (epee), and Salih Yasun (epee).

The two women qualifiers for the Vikings are Amanda Brown (epee) and Christine Bocci (sabre).

Head Coach Andy Tulleners is extremely happy with the qualifying group.

"We have trained really hard throughout the season," said Tulleners. "It is a great thing to see the most number of fencers qualify for the regional since I have taken over the program."

CSU's 10 qualifiers is one more than their total of nine last season.
