Vikings on HL Fall Academic Honor Roll | Vikings From Non-HL Sports Meeting Criteria

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ninety-seven Cleveland State University student-athletes were named to the Horizon League Fall Academic Honor Roll released by the League office Friday afternoon.

CSU's total represented over a 25 percent increase in its selections to the Fall Academic Honor Roll compared to last year's figures.

The CSU men's swimming & diving team's 17 honorees led the League's swimming & diving programs and also topped all Viking squads that compete in the Horizon League. The CSU's women's swimming & diving team tied for the most in the HL in that sport with 16 honorees. The CSU women's soccer squad had 15 recognized while the softball squad followed with 11.

Six Vikings honored maintained a 4.0 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester—sophomores Anna Brandt and Kylie Scott of cross country, sophomore Sydney Bajusz of softball, junior Kailah Ransom of women's soccer and senior Michaela Bargardi and sophomore Erica Henrichsen of women's swimming & diving.

Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season; 2) completion of three semesters as a full-time student at the same member institution; and 3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale)

In addition, a total of 32 student-athletes from CSU's non-Horizon League sports met this criteria—23 lacrosse players, six wrestlers and three women's fencers.
