A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Golf
• CSU will find out their destination for NCAA regionals on Thursday (May 4) during the selection show on the Golf Channel.
• The Vikings won their fourth straight Horizon League Championship and eighth in the last 12 years with a 54-hole total of 887 to beat Oakland by seven shots.
• Anton Krecic became the seventh player in school history to claim medalist honors at the League Championship with rounds of 71-75-69 (215), earning the title on the second playoff hole.

Women's Golf
• CSU will play in the NCAA regionals for the first time in program history from May 8-10 in Columbus, Ohio at the Scarlet Course.
• The Vikings captured their first-ever Horizon League Championship with a 54-hole total of 928 to top Youngstown State by three shots.
• Rayna Oosterhuis carded rounds of 74-74-75 (223) to finish as the runner-up. Her opening two rounds of 74 were career lows.

Men's Lacrosse
• Cleveland State (5-9) concluded its inaugural season this past weekend by notching a historic win, as the Vikings collected their first-ever win over a Division I opponent with a 13-6 victory over Detroit Mercy.
• The Vikings scored five times in the opening eight minutes and never trailed en route to a win over a team that will be competing in the MAAC Tournament.
• Caleb Espinoza had 13 saves, Danny Tesler won 14 of 22 faceoffs and Stephen Masi and Nick Wendel both had hat tricks in the win.

Softball
• The Vikings close the 2017 season this weekend when CSU hosts Green Bay for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday at Viking Field.
• CSU played six games last week with Hanna Breeden hitting .556 (10-18) with five RBI in those contests.
• Aubrie Tone hit a grand slam and drove in six runs on Sunday at Youngstown State. The six RBI were tied for the second most in a game in program history.

Men's Tennis
• CSU's (10-17) upset bid at the Horizon League Championship came up just short with a 4-3 setback to top-seeded Valparaiso in the title match on Sunday.
• The sixth-seeded Vikings advanced to the championship match with wins over third-seeded Green Bay and No. 2 seeded Detroit Mercy, becoming the first six seed to advanced to the League championship match.
• CSU played in the title match for the eighth time in the last 10 seasons.
• Nico Mostardi was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year and was also voted to the All-Horizon League second team with teammate Colton Buffington.

Women's Tennis
• The Vikings (14-10) concluded the season with a 4-2 setback to Wright State in the Horizon League semifinals on Saturday in Michigan.
• Seniors Princess Gbadamosi and Victoria Bensimon finished their Viking careers as two of the top players in program history as both ranked in the top-10 on the singles and doubles wins lists.
• Bensimon and Isabella Spindler were both named to the All-Horizon League second team.

Women's Track & Field
• CSU will compete in the Horizon League Championship this weekend in Youngstown, Ohio to conclude the 2017 season.
• The Vikings competed in the Ashland Invitational over the weekend as Karen Barrientos finished second int he 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Alexandria Derkacs placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.

VIKINGS OF THE WEEK

Cleveland State Men's & Women's Golf Teams

The CSU men's and women's golf teams captured the 2017 Horizon League Golf Championships in Florida. The men's team won its fourth straight title and eighth in the last 12 seasons. The team will find out on Thursday where they will head for NCAA regionals on the Selection Show at 12pm on the Golf Channel. The women's squad, which won the first League title in school history, will play in the NCAA Columbus Regional from May 8-10.

Danny Tesler  | Fr. | Men's Lacrosse
Won 14-of-22 faceoffs and scored a goal to help CSU earn its first Division I win in program history over Detroit Mercy.

Aubrie Tone | Jr. | Softball
Drove in six runs - second most in a game in school history - on Sunday at YSU.

Emily Turski | Jr. | Women's Golf
Shot a career-low 75 in the second round of the Horizon League Championship.
