A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Cross Country
• Cleveland State returns to action on Saturday at the Detroit Titan Invitational. The race is slated to begin at 11:15 am.
• The Vikings opened the season on Saturday at the Duquesne Duals and were paced by newcomer Karen Barrientos, who finished 18th overall with a time of 19:27.
• She was followed closely by senior Ashlyn Woods who recorded a time of 20:19 to finish 39th.

Men's Golf
• The Vikings close play with the final round of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday in Verona, N.Y.
• CSU shot 301 and 294 on Sunday to open the tournament. Patrick Luth carded rounds of 71 and 74 and is tied for 10th place with a 36 hole total of 145.
• Blake Prince (77-72) and Anton Krecic (75-74) are tied for 23rd place at 149 heading into the final round.

Women's Golf
• CSU opens the 2016 fall season at the Youngstown State Kickoff on Monday and Tuesday in Boardman, Ohio at Mill Creek G.C.
• The Vikings are coming off a fourth place finish at last year's League Championship and return three of the five golfers who competed last year in Sophie Kelner, Emily Turski and Rayna Oosterhuis.

Men's Soccer
• Cleveland State has a pair of matches this week, beginning with a home contest on Wednesday against Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. CSU then will open Horizon League play Saturday at Belmont at 7:30 pm.
• CSU played a single match last week and dropped a 1-0 decision at No. 21 Wake Forest. Aleksandar Drobac made seven saves in the contest against the Demon Deacons to keep the Vikings in the match.
• CSU leads the League in the early going in both goals per game and goals against average.

Women's Soccer
• The Vikings (2-4) close the nonconference slate with two matches this week, playing at Toledo at 4:00 pm on Friday and hosting St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Krenzler Field.
• CSU lost two matches over the weekend, falling 5-0 to Ohio on Friday and 4-2 to Akron on Sunday.
• Kaila Sargema and Aliani Lorenzo scored the goals in the match vs. Akron. The duo is tied for the team lead with three goals each.

Volleyball
• CSU (5-2) continues its early season tournament schedule with three matches at the Temple Invitational this weekend.
• The Vikings play host Temple on Friday at 6:00 pm and will square off with Rutgers on Saturday at 12:30 pm and conclude play versus New Hampshire at 4:00 pm on Saturday.
• The Vikings captured the CSU Invitational on Friday, earning a 3-0 win over Eastern Michigan and rallying from a 2-0 deficit to win the final three sets over Tennessee.
• The win over EMU was the 294th for 17th year head coach Chuck Voss, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history.
• Grace Kauth was named the MVP of the tournament and was joined on the all-tournament team by Gina Kilner and Rachel Stover.• CSU finished the weekend with a 3-1 setback to Boise State on Saturday.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Chuck Voss | Head Volleyball Coach

Voss led the Vikings to the CSU Invitational title with wins over Eastern Michigan and Tennessee over the weekend. The win over EMU was the 294th of his career at CSU, the most in program history. In the win over Tennessee, the Vikings fell behind 2-0 before rallying to win the final three sets.

Shot 71-74 to open the Turning Stone Intercollegiate and is tied for 10th place.
