CHICAGO - After collecting their first win in six years against UIC, the wind was taken from the Vikings' sails on Saturday, as junior pitcher Alison Aguilar held the Vikings to just four hits while posting her 18th straight league victory. Freshman Grace Luginbuhl (Lima, Ohio/Lima Bath) took the loss for Cleveland State giving up two runs in one inning of work.

The UIC offensive charge was lead by freshman second baseman Joyce Cathey who went 2-for-3 to lead the Flames, while first baseman Alycia Creese contributed with two RBI.

The Vikings were held hitless until the fourth inning when junior left fielder Michelle Beightol (Akron, Ohio/Springfield) slashed a triple to the right field corner. Beightol would later score on a wild pitch to account for the Vikings' only run of the game. A bright spot in the series for the Vikings was freshman pitcher J.J. Thornberry (Marion, Ohio/Elgin) who pitched 14.2 innings giving up just four runs against a strong UIC offense.

With the loss the Vikings fall to 14-20on the year and 4-6 in league play, while UIC moves to 16-30 overall with a record of 8-3 in league play.

Cleveland State's next game is a Monday doubleheader at Akron at 3 p.m. The Vikings are not slated to play at home again until they host Bowling Green on April 29 at 4 p.m.
