EAST LANSING, Mich. - Kyle Cobb fired a final round 68, tied for the second lowest round of the day, to lead Cleveland State to a 293 team total as the Vikings placed eighth of 13 teams at the Spartan Invitational on Sunday.
The 54-hole, two-day event was played at the 7,100-yard, par-71, Kingsley Club.
Cobb wound up tied for 18th place overall at three-over-par 216 (75-73-68).
"We got off to a slow start today, but really held it together to post a pretty decent score," head coach Steve Weir said. "We gave away a few shots, but I was proud of the way we battled through today and hung in there."
Kent Monas tied for 27th overall at 220, carding rounds of 72-72-76.
The Vikings will return to action on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 28-29) when the Vikings host the Telich Sun Life Financial/CSU Invitational at Sand Ridge G.C. in Chardon, Ohio.
