Brandt Featured In Horizon League Student-Athlete Spotlight

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cleveland State cross country and track & field senior Anna Brandt was honored by the Horizon League Monday afternoon, as she was featured in the Nike Horizon League Student-Athlete Spotlight.

Brandt, who is a two-sport student-athlete for the Vikings, has combined for six All-League Honors throughout her career, while also being named the 2017 #HLXC Freshman of the Year. Brandt is the first-ever Viking to become a three-time All-League honoree in cross country, and one of just two Vikings to earn #HLXC First Team accolades.

In cross country, Brandt owns Cleveland State's top 5K and 6K times over the last 15 seasons, while she also sits at the top of the track & field record book in five indoor events (500, 800, 1000, Mile) and three outdoor events (400H, 800, 1500).

Academically, Brandt has been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team six times between cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, owning a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA majoring in health sciences/pre-physical therapy as part of the CSU Honors College.

During the 2020 fall season, the Horizon League is honoring one male and one female student-athlete each week as part of the Nike Horizon League Student-Athlete Spotlight.
