CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will close out the 2022 regular season this weekend, traveling to IUPUI on Friday, November 11 (6:00 p.m.) and Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, November 12 (6:00 p.m.).

Cleveland State enters the final week of #HLVB play coming off back-to-back wins against Green Bay and Milwaukee in its final homestand of the season. The two wins against the Phoenix and Panthers put the Vikings at 8-8 in league play this season, and moved them into a tie for fifth place in the standings.

This weekend's matches will close out an 18-match #HLVB slate and a 29-match regular season schedule for the Vikings.

Sophomore libero Emma Walker led the Viking defense in the two matches last weekend, averaging 5.86 digs per set en route to earning #HLVB Player of the Week honors. Walker tallied 17 digs against Green Bay, before notching 24 digs against Milwaukee for her fourth 20-dig performance of the year.

Last time out, the Vikings recorded back-to-back matches with 10.0+ blocks, posting 10.0 against Green Bay and 14.0 against Milwaukee. For the season, Cleveland State ranks second among league teams averaging 2.46 blocks per set, and has combined for 263.0 total blocks on the year.

Individually, Lydia Latimer and Madison Olinger both have 100+ blocks on the season, Latimer entering the weekend with 111 and Olinger currently sitting at 110. Latimer and Olinger both rank in the top-five among league players in blocking.

Freshman setter Karly Klaer helped the Viking offense tally a .228 hitting percentage on the weekend, notching double-doubles in both matches. Klaer, who has a team-best 15 double-doubles on the year, ranks fourth among league players averaging 8.11 assists per set.

Laken Voss enters the weekend with 338 kills on the season, one of just five #HLVB players with 325+ kills on the year. Voss, who enters the final weekend ranked fifth averaging 3.38 kills per set, has tallied double-digit kills in 14 straight matches.

Earlier this season, the Vikings split their matches against IUPUI and Purdue Fort Wayne, picking up a 3-1 victory against the Jaguars, while dropping a five-set decision to the Mastodons.
