Cleveland State Volleyball Opens Final Homestand Against YSU On Tuesday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will return home for its final homestand during the 2022 campaign this week, beginning with a 6:00 p.m. contest against Youngstown State on Tuesday, November 1. 

Last time out, the Vikings picked up a 3-0 victory at Oakland, marking their second series sweep of the season. 

Entering the week, senior Audrey McConihe is on track to earn a spot in the CSU Career Record Book, entering Tuesday's match with 1,124 career digs. With just 14 more digs McConihe would be tied for 10th on the list, marking the first Viking to earn a spot in the top-10 since Shannon Grega. 

McConihe currently leads Cleveland State with 343 total digs on the year, while ranking ninth among #HLVB players averaging 3.54 digs per set.

After finishing with 15 kills at Oakland last time out, freshman Laken Voss surpassed 300 kills for the season, becoming the first rookie to record 300+ kills in a season since Grace Kauth in 2013. Voss currently has 305 kills on the year, ranking fifth in the league averaging 3.39 kills per set. 

Cleveland State continues to be one of the top blocking teams in the Horizon League, entering the week averaging 2.39 blocks per set. Individually, Lydia Latimer eclipsed 100 blocks for the year last time out, entering Tuesday's match with 102 total blocks on the year. In addition, Madison Olinger has 90 total blocks on the year. 

With five matches left during the 2022 regular season, the Vikings are currently fifth in the #HLVB standings, and will be looking to make the Horizon League Tournament for the first time in four seasons.

The Vikings will host Green Bay (Friday, November 4) and Milwaukee (Saturday, November 5) this weekend, with Saturday's match against the Panthers marking Senior Day.
