Cleveland State Volleyball Returns Home To Host Oakland On Saturday 

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will begin the month of October at home this weekend, hosting Oakland in a 4:00 p.m. match on Saturday, October 1.

The Vikings enter Saturday's match following a 3-1 victory at Robert Morris last time out, and currently stand at 2-2 in #HLVB play in the early part of the season.  

Against the Colonials, Laken Voss notched a team-high 17 kills, marking her 11th double-digit kill match of the season. Voss enters Saturday's match sitting fourth in the league averaging 3.33 kills per set, and has 183 total kills through 14 matches played this year. 

Freshman Karly Klaer notched her seventh double-double of the season at Robert Morris earlier this week, finishing with 38 assists and 12 digs. Klaer, who has been Cleveland State's primary setter over the last four weeks, ranks fourth among league players averaging 7.46 assists per set this season.  

Defensively, Audrey McConihe has paced the Vikings this season, averaging 4.13 digs per set. With 23 digs last time out, McConihe eclipsed the 250-dig mark for the season, and has now tallied 250+ digs in back-to-back seasons. The 23 digs against Robert Morris marked her sixth 20-dig match of the season, while she now has 1,037 total digs on her career.  

The Viking Block Party returned last time out, as Cleveland State combined for 15.0 blocks, the ninth double-digit block match of the season. For the year, Cleveland State has 152.0 total blocks, one of just two Horizon League teams with 150+ blocks. Individually, two Vikings rank in the top-five among league players, Lydia Latimer ranking second (1.19 blocks per set) and Madison Olinger sitting fourth (1.15). 

After Saturday's match against Oakland, the Vikings will hit the road for two matches, traveling to Milwaukee (Friday, October 7) and Green Bay (Saturday, October 8).
