Cleveland State Track & Field Opens Action At Jesse Owens Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team opened action at the Jesse Owens Invitational on Friday, paced by Brooke Armbruster with a top-10 finish in the Javelin.

Armbruster finished seventh overall in the Javelin as Cleveland State's lone field event competitor, posting a mark of 16.45.

In sprint events, Sara Timberlake and Colette Conway both notched top-20 finishes in the 400 Meter Hurdles, Timberlake with a time of 1:12.24 and Conway with a time of 1:14.73.

Cleveland State was also represented in the 200 Meter Dash, with Dynesty Ervin posting a time of 25.86 and Dellaserra notching a time of 26.68.

The Vikings also competed in a pair of distance events on Friday, as Madelynn Madison ran in the 1500 Meter Run (5:15.33) and the quartet of Kiannah Sarver (19:14.12), Hannah Korte (19:18.88), Emily Nemeth (19:38.95), and Ariana Coats (19:41.67) ran in the 5000 Meter Run.

Cleveland State will close out action at the Jesse Owens Invitational tomorrow (Saturday, April 23), competing in the 100 Meter Dash, 400 Meter Dash, 800 Meter Run, and 4x400 Meter Relay.
