Vikings Return To Action At Marshall Women's Classic

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State track and field team will resume its indoor season this weekend, competing at the Marshall Women's Classic on Saturday, January 12. This will mark the third out of eight events for the Vikings on their 2018-19 indoor schedule.

Complete Marshall Women's Classic Schedule | Field events are set to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while running events are set for a 1:00 p.m. start.

CSU Record Book | Entering Saturday's meet the Vikings have already set multiple program records this season, including newcomer Mijah Collier who posted program-best times in the 60 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Dash at the BGSU Opener in her first collegiate appearance. Also recording program records during the first two meets of the 2018-19 campaign were Anna Brandt (Mile), Jessica Finley (5000 Meter Run) and Julianne Dorothal (Long Jump).

Winner, Winner | Through two indoor meets, sophomore Anna Brandt has picked up two first place finishes for the Vikings, as she won the 800 Meter Run at the YSU Icebreaker, and the Mile Run at the BGSU Opener. This puts the Vikings on track to surpass last season's event win total, as they claimed two individual titles and one relay title after seven indoor meets last year.

The Vikings | Cleveland State is under the direction of third-year head coach Madeleine Outman Carleton, and returns 11 letterwinners from last year's indoor squad. Included in this group is the trio of Anna Brandt, Julianne Dorothal and Hannah Gaskins, who all earned podium finishes at the #HLTF Indoor Championships last season.
