Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Adds Ella Franz For 2022-23 Campaign

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's tennis head coach Frank Polito announced the addition of Ella Franz (Delaware, Ohio) for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign, with Franz set to join the Vikings next fall with four years of eligibility remaining.

"The team and I are very excited to have Ella join our Viking Family! It's great to have a top-five recruit in the state of Ohio coming to Cleveland State," Polito said. "Ella is a very athletic player who has a high ceiling. I know she will only get better as she adjusts to the collegiate game, and she will fit right into our lineup."

Franz will join the Vikings after a successful high school career at Olentangy Berlin High School, where she was a three-time Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year.

As a senior, Franz led the Bears to an Ohio Capital Conference championship, while posting a 26-1 singles record and earning a third place finish at the Ohio State Tournament.

In addition to earning a trio of Player of the Year accolades, Franz was also a three-time Scholar-Athlete, participating in the National Honor Society while working towards graduating Summa Cum Laude with an Honors Diploma.
