INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After helping the Cleveland State women's tennis team to a pair of wins last weekend, Kateryna Avram and Blanche Lenoan have been named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week. 

This marks the third time this season that the Vikings have earned Doubles Team of the Week accolades, while it is the first honor for Avram and Lenoan.

Avram and Lenoan helped the Vikings pick up back-to-back wins against St. Bonaventure (6-1) and Niagara (5-2) last weekend, as Cleveland State improved to 8-3 this spring.

"This is a great honor for Kate and Blanche, they have been playing well all year and have been a team that we can count on match-after-match to help us get the doubles point," head coach Frank Polito said. "They are constantly working on their games, and I'm excited to see what they can accomplish on the doubles court this season." 

Last week, the duo went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles, picking up a 6-4 win at St. Bonaventure and a 6-2 win against Niagara. Avram and Lenoan helped the Vikings clinch the doubles point in both matches, as Cleveland State has now earned the early advantage in all eight of its wins this spring.

Avram and Lenoan now own a team-best 8-1 record this spring, and have won three straight matches after their two wins last weekend.

This duo will return to action tomorrow (Wednesday, March 4), when the Vikings host Akron at 3:00 p.m. in their lone match of the week.
