Women’s Tennis Signs Bethany Yauch For 2020-21 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's tennis head coach Frank Polito has announced the addition of Bethany Yauch (Pittsburgh, Pa.) to the Viking lineup for the 2020-21 season, as Yauch has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Cleveland State University beginning next fall.

"I am very excited to have Bethany sign with our program, her work ethic and blue collar mentality will fit in perfectly with the culture of this team," Polito said. "I'm looking forward to having Bethany arrive on campus, and seeing what she is capable of doing on the court, because I think the sky is the limit when it comes to her tennis game."

Yauch will join the Vikings following a standout career at Baldwin High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner and Female Athlete of the Year honoree. Yauch qualified for the PIAA State Tournament every season that she competed, and had her best finish as a senior, placing third at the State Championship.

As a junior and senior, Yauch captured sectional titles – a first for Baldwin High School - while also finishing as the WPIAL runner-up during both seasons.

During her freshman campaign, Yauch earned Esmark All-American honors after finishing as the sectional runner-up and placing third at the WPIAL Championship.

Yauch will join the Vikings as a true freshman, with four years of eligibility remaining.
