2021 Horizon League Schedule Released

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State Athletics has announced its Horizon League schedule for the 2021 softball season. In order to participate in the 2021 season, all Horizon League institutions have agreed to follow rigorous league-mandated safety protocols related to COVID-19.

SCHEDULE

The Horizon League schedule format for softball will consist of a nine-weekend, four-game, series that will be played on Friday/Saturday with Sunday as a makeup date. There will also be two midweek double headers that will be played on Tuesday, March 23 and Tuesday, April 6. The Vikings will begin their season on the road to face off against one of the newest members of the Horizon League, Purdue Fort Wayne, on March 12-13. They will wrap up the regular season against the other newest Horizon League institution, Robert Morris, on May 7-8 at Cleveland State.

Potential non-conference games will be announced once finalized.

This season, the Vikings will play host to IUPUI, Detoirt Mercy, Youngstown State, Green Bay and Robert Morris, while facing off against Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, UIC and Youngstown State on the road.

Horizon League championship information will be announced once finalized. Game times will be updated on each program's schedule on csuvikings.com once determined.

Due to the conditions created by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Cleveland State will begin the season with no spectators. CSU will work with local health officials to evaluate future spectator plans should those factors significantly improve.
