Cleveland State Women's Soccer Receives Two Academic All-League Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Cleveland State women's soccer players, Maddie Young and Lina Feltovich were named to the 2022 Horizon League Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, the League announced Tuesday afternoon.

"Lina and Maddie are two of the several players in our program that consistently hold themselves to the highest of standards both on the field and more importantly in the classroom," said head coach Dallas Boyer. "It's great for them to be recognized for all of their hard work and commitment as student-athletes.  Their ability to prioritize academic preparation and performance on top of what is athletically demanded of them really sets the standard for the entire group."

Young, majoring in health science, pre-physician assistant, carries a 3.97 GPA and has been named to the Academic team for a second straight season. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has been named to the President's List on four occasions. This season, she has started all 16 games at forward, scoring five goals and adding one assist for 11 points. Young also leads the team in game-winning goals with three.

Feltovich earns Horizon League All-Academic honors for a third straight season. The senior has been named to the President's List in every semester of her time at Cleveland State. She also carries a perfect 4.00 GPA. The Stow, Ohio native has started all 16 games as a defender, registering two assists.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, have earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and be a starter or key reserve.
