Opening Whistle 
The Vikings conclude non-league play tomorrow at Canisius with a 1 p.m. kickoff. With a victory, Cleveland State will match their non-league victory mark from 2018.

Last Time Out
The Vikings upended Niagara 3-2 this past Sunday on Senior Day. Kathryn Ramicone led the Vikings with two goals while Maddie Young added the other on an assist from Ramicone. Liv Fain recorded her first collegiate win in goal after making four saves.

Cleveland State leads the all-time series 7-6 and were winners last season at home, 4-2.

About the Golden Griffins
Canisius enters Saturday's tilt with a 1-2-3 record as their lone win came on August 26 against Cornell, 2-1. The Golden Griffins have tied their previous two games and have scored just a single goal in their last three contests. Tiani Fonoti is the lone player with multiple goals having scored twice and adding an assist.

Horizon League Honors
Ramicone was named the HLWSOC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and adding an assist. She is the first Viking this season to earn a POW award.

Preseason Poll
The Cleveland State women's soccer team was selected to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, as voted upon by league head coaches, the Horizon League announced on Wednesday.

Oakland topped the Horizon League poll with five first-place votes for 115 points, while reigning HL Champions, Milwaukee came in second with five first-place votes and 108 points.

2021 Season Summary
The Vikings are coming off a 6-11-2 overall and 5-5-1 league mark during the 2021 season. CSU went 3-0-1 over the final four contests of the regular season to earn a spot in the Horizon League tournament for the first time since 2019. During the stretch, the Vikings didn't allow a goal for 458 minutes, recording four straight shutouts.
