Boyer Adds Jamie Daniels to Staff

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State Women's Soccer Head Coach Dallas Boyer announced today that former CSU women's soccer star Jamie Daniels will join his staff as an assistant coach. Daniels replaces Reilee DuPratt who was named the head coach of Ohio Dominican women's soccer program on May 26, 2020.

"It was difficult to lose Reilee this offseason, but in moving forward with the position I couldn't think of a more perfect fit than Jamie," said head coach Dallas Boyer. "With her experience as a goalkeeper she can immediately jump in and help Carl with overseeing that specific position, continuing to strengthen our program's long history now of exceptional performances by that position group. Jamie has instant credibility with our players as she's both one of the best players in our program's history and one of the best goalkeepers that has passed thru the Horizon League the last several years."

Daniels, a 2018 graduate of Cleveland State University, suited up for the Vikings women's soccer team from 2013-17. The Chapel Hill, N.C., native, ranks third in school history for career shutouts (7) and fourth in saves (179).

"Being back at Cleveland State, especially with these coaches and this specific group of players, is a very humbling opportunity," newly appointed assistant coach Jamie Daniels said. "To continue building on the culture and identity of our program is something that I'm really honored to be a part of. I'm grateful to be able to give back to a university and athletic department that invested in me and continues to bless me with so many relationships, memories, and lessons."

The goalkeeper saw action in 57 matches throughout her four-year career, starting in all but three (54 starts), logging 5,035:09 minutes. Daniels owns a career save percentage of .758, notching 247 saves.

"For Carl and I, we are thrilled to provide this opportunity to Jamie as the next step in her coaching path, as well as provide another strong asset into our environment that our athletes will benefit from," said Boyer. "We cant' wait to cheer on Reilee and her Ohio Dominican program the next several years and we anticipate that this opportunity sets Jamie up on a similar path to do the same in a few years as our coaching tree here at Cleveland State continues to produce more future leaders."

Since graduating from Cleveland State University in 2018 with a degree in communications, Daniels has been an assistant coach at Twinsburg High School (2018-19), Twinsburg Athletic Club (2019), Case Western Reserve University (2019), Ohio Elite Soccer Academy (2020), Cleveland Force Soccer Club (2020) and a trainer at Precision Elite Goalkeeper Academy (2020).
