SETTING THE STAGE: The Cleveland State women's soccer team will open the home portion of its Horizon League schedule on Saturday (Sept. 28) when it hosts defending league champion Milwaukee at 4 p.m. on Krenzler Field.

HORIZON HOME OPENERS: Cleveland State is 6-8-1 all-time in Horizon League home openers...The Vikings are 2-0 under Dallas Boyer in Horizon League home openers...The Vikings have won two straight in league openers on Krenzler Field having defeated IUPUI in 2018 by a 3-1 score and Oakland in 2017 by a 4-2 margin...Cleveland State has faced Milwaukee only once in its league opener and the Panthers prevailed 4-0 in 2011.

ALL-TOURNAMENT VIKINGS: Cleveland State's Elena Gutlove and Kailah Ransom were each named to the all-tournament team at the UTSA Tournament.

HORIZON LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cleveland State's Stevie Holbrook was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 26...It marked the second time in her career she has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors from the league.
