Krause, who joined the Vikings as a senior transfer for the 2018 campaign, finished the year with five goals and seven assists, recording a team-best 17 points.

"I'm so excited that Sarah was recognized with this honor, becoming the first player in our program's history to do so," head coach Dallas Boyer said. "Her daily approach and exceptional talent was one of several factors that pushed us to new levels this past season. Her soccer IQ and awareness on the field are incredible, and as a result, all of her teammates and the coaching staff had the benefit of working with someone that sees the game at a different level."

Three of Krause's goals served as game-winners throughout the season, while she also tallied assists on two game-winning goals.

Krause finished the year tied for second in the CSU Single-Season Record Book with her seven assists, while her five goals is tied for ninth.

"Sarah was awesome to work with and it was really fun to watch her finally enjoy her last season of collegiate soccer the way she did here with us. While her time spent as a Viking was relatively short, her impact on everything we accomplished this season was massive, along with helping us as we build the Cleveland State women's soccer program for the future," Boyer said.

As an integral part of the Viking offense, Krause helped Cleveland State post a program-best 30 goals on the season, en route to winning a program-record 11 matches.

Krause helped the Vikings to a second place finish in the 2018 Horizon League standings – the team's highest finish in program history – and guided Cleveland State to its first-ever appearance in the #HLWSOC Championship Match.
