CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's soccer head coach Dallas Boyer announced the addition of seven student-athletes for the upcoming 2019 season Thursday, with all seven joining the Vikings as true freshmen with four years of eligibility remaining.
Joining the women's soccer program next fall will be Rylee Bussen (Delaware, Ohio), Courtney Coholich (Allison Park, Pa.), McKenna Donahue (Twinsburg, Ohio), Lina Feltovich (Stow, Ohio), Grace Krosky (Medina, Ohio), Cassidy Lewis (Mayfield Village, Ohio), and Abigail McKeown (Burlington, Vt.).
Rylee Bussen

Boyer on Bussen | Rylee is a prototypical center back that we very much needed to have as a part of this incoming class. Her biggest strengths are her quick decision making and the ability to organize and move her teammates around to solve problems. Her ability to anticipate plays and be in the right positions along with her strong 1v1 defending, give her all the attributes needed from the position defensively. As we help her develop the offensive side of the game in starting the build-up in possession from the back in the way that we play, she will have the full skill set and be able to contribute immediately.
Courtney Coholich

Boyer on Coholich | Courtney has a very high work rate, and is extremely intelligent with her soccer IQ. She has an uncommon ability at her age to move within traffic with changes of pace and changes of direction to find herself pockets of space to receive passes and make well-timed runs that create chances for herself or relieve pressure for teammates. She is versatile enough on both sides of the ball to either play as a forward or as an attacking center mid, but in either role, should find opportunities to contribute immediately and compliment our other returning attacking players very well.

Boyer on Donahue | The biggest asset that McKenna brings – and that I'm so excited to work with – is her competitiveness. Everyone wants to win, but McKenna has a different kind of drive, in that she absolutely NEEDS to win at everything she does all of the time. That passion is going to be a lot of fun to add to our group. She's always been an excellent athlete with a really high work rate, but over the last year she has really cleaned up her technical skill level and became cleaner in her finishing as well. All of this makes her someone that should be a dangerous goal scoring threat for us immediately.
Lina Feltovich

Boyer on Feltovich | Lina is a leader on both of her teams, which are one of the best high school programs in the country and one of the best clubs in the country, so I'm really excited to add that kind of character and voice to the group. As an outside defender training and competing in the most competitive league, she has been working against the best attacking players for several years now. She is a very good on-ball defender and reads the game very well to recognize when to get herself forward and join the team's attack, and when to stay home and stay connected to her back line. On the ball, she is very good at maintaining possession and building up from the back line like we try to play, and when she is able to get forward, can serve a very dangerous ball from the final attacking third. Her progression the last few years has been awesome to watch, and I expect her to continue to do so here with us, and grow into a big role both on the field as well as leading the locker room eventually.
Grace Krosky

Boyer on Krosky | Grace can immediately fill in for a midfield that loses so many impact players from this year's senior class. She does everything well that we look for in our central midfield players – clean and simple possession, able to organize and communicate with teammates around her defensively, very good in the air, and is a strong 1v1 defender. A lot of our style of play in trying to apply a lot of organized pressure on the opponent to win the ball quickly, and then to open up and possess thru our midfield, relies on a player like Grace that can do all of those things well on both sides of the ball at the heart of our formation. I'm very excited to see her step in and grow in that role that fits her so well.
Cassidy Lewis

Boyer on Lewis | Cassidy is incredibly diverse in her skill set, and when combined with her high fitness level and athleticism, she will provide a huge advantage for us in our ability to be flexible playing different formations. She has excelled as a forward, as a wide midfielder, and as an outside defender that can get herself forward to join her team's attack. Having another player like that who can contribute immediately in a variety of roles opens up so many options for us to find the best combination of players in multiple shapes and formations, which will give us the best chance to win games.
Abigail McKeown

Boyer on McKeown | Abby joins us as the first player in our program's history to come from the New England area after joining us for a few of our camps and really impressing. Even in a camp environment working with players she didn't know, she was a vocal presence that continually organized a group of strangers to play together immediately as if they'd been together for years. That level of soccer intelligence and comfort with leading other players around her really excited us and has us envisioning her as someone that can definitely develop into the leader of a college back line.
