Riggs Adds Olivia Swain to Vikings Women's Golf Program

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland State head coach Taylor Riggs announced that Olivia Swain has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Cleveland State University and compete for the Vikings women's golf program.

"Olivia is really going to be a strong player for Cleveland State," Riggs said. "She comes from a great family, and I'm really impressed with her as an overall person and a player. Once she gets here next fall I believe her ceiling is high and she will be a great addition for our program.

"She hits the ball a long way and is a really solid ball striker. She will look to improve her short game, but she is really talented. She is just starting to scratch the surface as to the type of player she can become."

Swain currently attends Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio.

Swain was a state qualifier as a senior and was a three-time All-Northeast Ohio selection. She earned All-Northeast Ohio honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

In addition to qualifying for the state tournament as a senior, Swain was the district and sectional medalist.

She was selected to the All-Stark County team for four consecutive seasons and was a three-time First Team All-Federal League choice.

Swain was selected as the Lake High School most valuable player for four straight seasons and twice set school records for 18 holes and nine holes of competition.

Off the course, Swain was named Academic All-Ohio.
