Paulina Hernandez Set To Join Women’s Basketball For 2023-24 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's basketball head coach Chris Kielsmeier has announced the addition of Paulina Hernandez (Oak Creek, Wisconsin) for the 2023-24 campaign, as she has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Cleveland State University beginning next fall.

"We are very excited that Paulina will be joining our program next year, she is a versatile post player who knows what it takes to win," Kielsmeier said. "She played on one of the best AAU programs in the country, and her high school team has a great winning tradition. The coaching staff and team really enjoyed spending time with Paulina and her family during her official visit, and we can't wait to welcome them to the Viking Family."

Hernandez has spent her prep career at Oak Creek High School, where she has helped the Knights to three straight Southeast Conference Championships.

The Wisconsin native has also spent time as part of the Wisconsin Lakers AAU program, leading them to a Select 40 League Championship last summer.

"The reason I chose Cleveland State was because of the team and amazing coaching staff," Hernandez said. "On my visit they made me feel like I really belonged, and the atmosphere of the campus felt like a home away from home."

As a junior, Hernandez posted a season-best single-game scoring mark of 25 points, while averaging 7.0 rebounds.

During her time at Oak Creek, Hernandez has been named to the SEC First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention.
