Miller Named #HLWBB Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State women's basketball team to its ninth straight win at Omaha last time out, senior Mariah Miller has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks the second weekly honor for the Vikings this season, and the second for Miller during her career.

Miller and the Vikings earned a 79-66 victory at Omaha on Sunday (Dec. 15), extending their current winstreak to nine straight games which ties the program record for consecutive wins.

Against the Mavs, Miller finished with a team-high 18 points along with five rebounds, helping the Vikings remain perfect (4-0) during the month of December.

Miller's 18-point performance at Omaha marked her ninth 15+ point game of the season, as she has now recorded double-digit points in every game this year.

For the season, Miller is averaging 21.9 points per game – which leads the team and the Horizon League – and also ranks her ninth nationally in the category. The Milwaukee, Wis. native has also been one of the most efficient shooters for the Vikings this season, as she is currently shooting 50-percent from the field (80-for-160), and also has a .459 clip from three-point range (17-for-37).

The Vikings, who stand at 9-1 on the year, will close out the non-league portion of its schedule on Friday (Dec. 20), hosting Lake Erie at 7:00 p.m.
