CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University wrestling team continues action this weekend as it returns to a tournament format.

CSU will head to the Navy Classic this Saturday, Nov. 17. Action will get underway inside Wesley Brown Field House at 10:00 a.m. Semifinals are projected to begin at 2:30 p.m. with finals projected to begin at 5:00 p.m. Live scoring will be available through the link at the top of this article.

This event begins a stretch that sees CSU spend four of its next five dates of competition in a tournament format. Cleveland State opened dual action this past weekend by dropping decisions to Buffalo and host Bucknell before rebounding for a comfortable win over VMI.

Redshirt freshman Brady Barnett won all three dual matchups at 149 pounds in the quad dual at Bucknell to improve to 8-2 on the season. He owns three pins and a pair of major decisions in the early going.

Redshirt senior Armando Torres won dual matches against Bucknell and VMI at 133 pounds, moving his season record to 7-1 after he won the Clarion Open to start the campaign.

After missing the Clarion Open, senior John Vaughn opened his final season with a 2-1 mark at Bucknell's quad dual, including earning a pin. Redshirt sophomore Nico O'Dor owns five wins at 157 pounds on the season.

Cleveland State last competed at the Navy Classic in 2014-15, which, at the time, was the third consecutive season in which the Vikings took part. CSU had four placers at the event in 2014, highlighted by Riley Shaw's runner-up finish at heavyweight.

In addition to the Vikings and host Navy, the following schools are expected to send their teams to this year's Navy Classic: Air Force, American, Brown, Bucknell, Campbell, Delaware Valley, Edinboro, George Mason, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan State, Ohio, Old Dominion and Oregon State.

Cleveland State will take time off from competition around the Thanksgiving holiday before resuming action at the Cougar Clash on the opening weekend of December.
