Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Sweeps #HLTennis Weekly Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the first time this season the Cleveland State men's tennis team has swept the Horizon League Weekly Awards, as Maxime Mareschal-Hay has been named the Singles Player of the Week and Kade Mindry and Raul Teichmann have been named the Doubles Team of the Week. This marks the second straight weekly honor for Mareschal-Hay, while it marks the third weekly accolade for Mindry and Teichmann.

Last time out, this trio helped the Vikings pick up back-to-back wins against Bryant (7-0) and Binghamton (6-1), extending their current win streak to four straight matches. The two wins also improved Cleveland State to 8-4 on the young season.

Mareschal-Hay paced the Vikings in singles play, going 2-0 at the top of the lineup, picking up a 7-6(12), 7-6(2) win against Bryant and a 6-1, 7-5 victory against Binghamton. Following the two wins, Mareschal-Hay now has a team-best 14-7 singles record on the year, including a 9-2 mark this spring.

In doubles, Mindry and Teichmann picked up back-to-back wins at the No. 1 spot, helping the Vikings clinch the doubles point in both matches. The duo earned a 6-3 victory against Bryant and a 6-1 win against Binghamton, improving to a team-best 12-5 this season. Mindry and Teichmann also own a team-best 8-2 mark at No. 1 doubles this spring.

Mareschal-Hay, Mindry, Teichmann and the Vikings will continue the spring campaign this weekend, traveling to Chicago, Ill. to face DePaul, Eastern Kentucky and Army.
