Mostardi & Phillips Pick Up #HLMTEN Doubles Team of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After picking up a win against Buffalo last time out, the Cleveland State men's tennis duo of Luke Phillips and Nico Mostardi has been named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week. This marks the second honor for the duo this season.

"This is another well deserved honor for Luke and Nico, as they are leading the charge for us when it comes to doubles play," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "They have been playing extremely well over the last few weeks and give us a ton of experience at the top of the doubles lineup. It's been crucial for us to pick up that early doubles point this year, and Luke and Nico have been a major part of helping us get that 1-0 advantage during four of our first five matches this year."

Last time out, Phillips and Mostardi picked up a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles against Buffalo, helping the Vikings capture the doubles point for the fourth straight match.

With the win last weekend, the duo remained perfect on the season as they now stand at 3-0 on the year.

For their careers, Mostardi and Phillips have 18 wins as a doubles team, just three wins shy of earning a spot in the top-10 on the Doubles Wins List.

Individually, Mostardi ranks eighth on the CSU Doubles Wins List with 69 career wins, needing just one more win to move into seventh place on the list.
