Mostardi Named To #HLMTEN All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2020 Men's Tennis All-Academic Team Tuesday afternoon, with Cleveland State senior Nico Mostardi earning a spot on the seven-player team.

Mostardi, who is now a three-time All-Academic Team member, carries a 3.73 GPA pursuing a degree in marketing. The Cleveland, Ohio native has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List seven times – every semester of his collegiate career – and has been a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and three-time CSU Athletic Academic honoree.

On the court, Mostardi finished the shortened campaign with a 14-9 record as Cleveland State's top singles player, and was ranked in the top-100 in the Oracle ITA National Singles Rankings throughout the year. 

Mostardi picked up three Horizon League Singles Player of the Week honors throughout the 2020 spring season, and has now earned 12 weekly accolades throughout his career.

In doubles action, Mostardi posted a 9-5 overall record this season, including a 7-4 mark with Luke Phillips at the top of the doubles lineup during the spring campaign. 

For his career, Mostardi ranks fourth on the CSU Singles Wins List with 84 career victories and ranks eighth on the CSU Doubles Wins List with 66 career wins. 

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League honors in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution.
