Moran Named an Assistant Coach for Cleveland State Swimming & Diving Programs

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Noah Moran has been named an Assistant Coach at Cleveland State University, as announced by men's and women's swimming head coach Hannah Burandt.

Prior to CSU, Moran spent three seasons at Wittenberg University, the first as the interim head coach before being elevated into the permanent position from 2019-21.

"Coach Moran brings 25 years of experience, core values, and a passion for coaching which will have an immediate and significant impact on this entire program," said coach Burandt. "I know firsthand the transformation student-athlete experience that Noah provides. It's a privilege and an honor to be able to bring Noah Moran into the Viking Family. I am excited to work together to provide the resources and opportunities for our women and men to reach their goals in life, the classroom, and in the pool."

Moran had spent three seasons as the head coach at Tiffin University, helping lead five swimmers to the NCAA Division II Championships. In that time, he coached 34 student-athletes to new school records.

Prior to Tiffin, Noah spent a season as an assistant coach at Colgate University and then went on to spend a year with the Turkish Swimming Federation, working as the head coach at the Ankara High-Performance Center.

"I am humbled to be coaching at Cleveland State with both Coach Hannah and Coach McGillivray," said Moran. "Cleveland State is an established program that is rising to meet all challenges together as a team. The Vikings have defined objectives and clear goals that I am excited to be a part of and chase with them. I would like to thank the administration and coach Hannah for this incredible opportunity."

Moran began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Eastern Michigan for eight seasons before moving into an assistant role for seven seasons.

Moran swam at Eastern Michigan University for five years, helping the Eagles to four Mid-American Conference Championships and a 32-13 overall record, and a 21-3 mark in league meets.

Moran received his bachelor of science from Eastern Michigan University in political science and communications. He went to obtain his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 2003.
